<br />3.Approval of November meeting minutes <br /> <br /> Member Willenbring moved to approve the minutes of November 23, <br />2004, of the Public Works/Transportation Commission. Member Rossini <br />seconded. <br /> <br /> Ayes: 4 <br /> Nays: 0 <br /> Motion carried <br /> <br /> <br />4.Communications Items <br /> <br /> Duane Schwartz talked about term limits on Commission members. The <br />Council will be asked to approve new terms for members shortly after the <br />first of the year. The current terms of Joe Rossini & Doug Wilke expire in <br />2005, and they are both eligible for reappointment. <br /> <br /> Deb Bloom talked about the Highway 280 reconstruction project. The <br />project is being postponed until 2009. The Goodwill Building will be torn <br />down starting in January. The Larpenteur Avenue bridge needs updating. <br /> <br /> Member Wilke asked if they couldn’t just go ahead with the County Road <br />B part of the project alone right now. Bloom said they could perform <br />maintenance now but then they wouldn’t get as much money for the whole <br />project. <br /> <br /> Member Rossini asked if there was a good chance of increased funds in <br />2009. Bloom said she thinks the project will be well funded. <br /> <br /> Schwartz said he wanted to emphasize the struggle for funding right now. <br />There isn’t a lot of money available so a lot of projects are being backed <br />up. Mn/DOT, Ramsey County, and Metro Transit have been invited to the <br />January 24 City Council Work Session. <br /> <br /> Schwartz asked Bloom to discuss the Rosedale expansion and the new <br />Target store. <br /> <br /> <br />5.Sanitary Sewer Inflow/Infiltration Study (Continued) <br /> <br /> Duane Schwartz introduced the topic and explained that at this stage what <br />they wanted to do was give an overview of a proposed program that would <br />enable Roseville to find their problems. Deb Bloom made the presentation <br />of different options that could be used in this situation. <br /> <br /> Member Rossini suggested that the Fire Department be used to do some of <br />the inspections. Schwartz said another way would be when a water meter <br />is replaced. Bloom said they could also work with building inspections on <br />new homes and permits. <br />Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br />
