RosevilIe Public Works and Transportation Commission Agenda Item Date: April 24, 2003 Item No: 8 Item Description: Building Project Updatc At the April 7'h Council meeting, staff and the architects updated the Council on the City's building project. We are now essentially at the end of the design development phase and are in the final design and detailed drawing phase. We will be presenting the latest infOlmation to you at the Commission meeting. We will review the proposed floor plans, site plan and construction phasing plan. We will also discuss the project budget. Attached are the floor plan drawings and the building elevation drawings. Wc will have 3-D images of the proposed construction at the Commission meeting, which will better detail the proposed exterior finishes and fit within this site. The project, as currently proposed, is consistent with the goals and objectives presented to the Council prior to the November, 2002, referendum. The police addition is minus a firing range, as directed by Council on March 31, 2003. The maintenance building remodeling and expansion of the yard area includes winter maintenance materials facility, improved storage areas, an improved vehicle maintenance area, and improved office and staff arcas accessible to the public. Civic Center Drive is proposed to be realigned through the site and parking areas redesigned and rebuilt. The police addition and maintenance building improvements are projected to be within the Council authOlized not-to-exceed total cost of$IO.4 million. McGough Construction has provided three estimates to date through the design development process, each bringing us closer to the projcct budget. We are committed to delivering the project within budget. Recommended Action: Comment on the design and detail of the proposed project.
