<br />( <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />, .. <br /> <br />street Lighting <br />Page Three <br /> <br />In specific ax:eas whex:e ornamental street lighting is appl:oved, the <br />residents may be l:equix:ed to pay for the extra cost of placanent, pClwex: <br />and maintenance oITer and above the City standard residential light. <br /> <br />On new public streets in developnent areas, the developer is requix:ed to <br />install the lights at their cost (up front). The City pays the monthly <br />power cost. The City, after acceptance, maintains the City owned lights. <br /> <br />The cost of installation, including power to lights placed by NSP but <br />x:equested by the City, aX:e paid by the City on a monthly basis. The <br />monthly charges aX:e higher than City owned lights since the installation <br />costs are borne by NSP. NSP maintains the lights owned by thaIi. <br /> <br />When the City installs a new light, it may be through NSP (NSP owned) ox: <br />by the City's electrical contractor (City owned). In the second case, the <br />City pays fox: the installation cost up front. If NSP owns the light, the <br />up front cost is paid fox: over the life of the light. <br /> <br />COORDINATION OF LIGHTING <br /> <br />Coox:dination of City street lighting shall be done by the City Engineering <br />Department. Coox:dination is to include, but not limited to, lights <br />x:equested by petition, placement by Developex:s, those l:ecarmended by Staff <br />and those installed by NSP.
