intersections. In most instances, the pathway will be separated from the roadway
by a 5-foot boulevard, with the exception of areas where there is limited right- of-
way, or other physical constraints. In these areas the sidewalk will be widened to
8 feet and attached to the back of curb. The additional 2 feet of width allows for a
buffer zone where street signs can be located. To facilitate pedestrian safety, we
will be striping pedestrian crosswalks at all new stop sign locations; Galtier Street,
Western Avenue, and Sandy Hook.

In discussing the proposed sidewalk location with the neighborhood, we
determined that between Rice Street and Western A venue, the south side of the
roadway was the most logical placement in order to connect this facility up to the
existing sidewalk on the south side of Western Avenue. Between Western and the
railroad tracks, the westerly side works best, this is in order to minimize driveway
and street crossings.

In order to minimize impacts to private property, we are proposing to construct
the sidewalk along the railroad tracks. This will require the acquisition of 2 feet
of easement along the entire length of the railroad.

3. Parking:
For parking to be permitting on both sides of a Municipal State Aid street, the
street must be at least 38 feet wide. For parking on one side of the street the street
must be at least 32 feet wide. Street widths narrower than that must be signed No
Parking on both sides of the road. All dimensions are face of curb to face of curb.
When the thickness of the curb is added in, the street is actually one foot wider.

Between Rice Street and Western A venue we are proposing to construct at 28 foot
wide road. Consistent with the Ladyslipper Park Master Plan, we are proposing to
construct parking bays on the north side of the street between Marion and Matilda
Street. The bays will park at least 10 cars. The rest of this portion of the road will
be signed no parking.

Residents along the section of road between Western Avenue and the Railroad
tracks have indicated that they would like to have on street parking. In the
boulevard in front of3005 S. Owasso Blvd, there is a 36" Oak tree. Also, at 3051,
there is a wetland on the west side of the road that has a number of trees between
the water's edge and the road. In order to save these trees and avoid impacts to the
wetland, we are shifting the street easterly within the existing right- of- way.
However, on the easterly side of the road we have trees as well as slope concerns.
In consideration of these constraints, we are able to accommodate a sidewalk and
28 foot wide road.
