<br />1 BY-LAWS FOR ORGANIZATION AND PROCEDURES OF THE <br /> <br />2 <br />3 CITY OF ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />4 <br />5 WHEREAS, City of Roseville City Code Chapter 201, titled "Planning Commission," <br />6 reqnires the Planning Commission to "Adopt such rules for the transaction of business as it <br />7 deems appropriate," and <br />8 <br />9 WHEREAS, said code requires the Planning Commission to "keep a record of its <br />10 Resolutions, transactions, and findings, and which record shall be a public record," and <br />11 <br />12 WHEREAS, said code requires the COtUJ.eil Planning Commission to "appoint a Chair <br />13 from among its appropriate members for a term of one (1) year" and "create and fill such other <br />14 offices as it may determine." <br />15 <br />16 THEREFORE, in accordance with the "Planning Commission Code," the following shall <br />17 constitute the duly adopted By-laws for the City Planning Commission of the City of Roseville, <br />18 Minnesota, subject only to review and confirmation by the City Council. <br />19 <br />20 Election of Officers <br />21 <br />22 At the first regular meeting of the Planning Commission following the Council action <br />23 pursuant to City Code Chapter 201 of each year, the Commission shall hold its annual business <br />24 meeting (April). The Commission shall elect a Vice-Chair from among its members. In the <br />25 event of a resignation, the Planning Commission shall appoint a replacement from among its <br />26 members to fulfill the unexpired term. At the meeting, the Commission shall also review and/or <br />27 revise its By-laws and Mission Statement. The Planning Commission secretary shall be the <br />28 Community Development Director or Director's designee. <br />29 <br />30 Duties of Officers <br />31 <br />32 The Chair shall preside at all meetings, be a regular voting member of the Commission, <br />33 and be responsible for appointing sub-committees as deemed necessary to assist the Planning <br />34 Commission in carrying out its duties. <br />35 <br />36 The Vice-Chair shall preside in the absence of the Chair. In the absence of both the Chair <br />37 and Vice-Chair, the Planning Commission shall appoint a temporary Chair from among the <br />38 members present. <br />39 <br />40 Minutes shall be approved by the Planning Commission at its next business meeting and <br />41 shall not be distributed to the general public until approved.
