While electronics collection is increasing, brush collection is decreasing. In 2004 Ramsey
County began collection brush at four of its yard waste sites including the two closest to
Roseville. The program has proved to be extremely popular with residents. And the
number of Roseville residents paying to dispose of brush at Clean Up Day has plummeted
to almost none.

Residents appeared to be quite pleased with the service. Many of the people that
Recycling Coordinator Pratt talked to on the phone or in person said they were glad to
have someplace to take these difficult items for disposal. More than one resident remarked
that they had things sitting around their house they wanted to get rid of, but just didn't
know how. Others said they were glad they could take all this material to one spot instead
of having to drive to different facilities to drop off different types of waste.

Future
Given the positive results of Clean Up Day, it appears Roseville resident support
continuation of the program. Also given the excellent preparation and service provided by
Lightning Disposal the City may wish to extend the contract in order to insure the
consistency and stability of the program while it matures. The current contract for the
Clean Up expires this year. Lightning has agreed to freeze its prices for the next two years
if it is granted a contract extension.
