City of Roseville - Planning Commission Minutes for February 1, 2006http://www.ci.roseville.mn.us/council/planning/minutes/2006/pm0201.htm Dennis Welsch explained the next steps and suggested the Commission begin the review work necessary for the update of the plan, beginning at the March 1, 2006 meeting. The Commission concurred. There being no further public comment, discussion was concluded. Motion: Member Bakeman moved, second by Member Doherty to continue the hearing and discussion to the March 1, 2006 meeting. Ayes: 6 Nays: 0 Motion carried: 6-0 f.Planning File 3628: Continuation - Request by the City of Roseville to consider amendments to Section 1009 Sign Regulations, of the Roseville City Code Chair Traynor opened the continued hearing and requested City Planner Thomas Paschke to provide a verbal summary of the Sign Code Update project report dated February 1, 2006. Mr. Paschke explained that he has continued to add comment and correction from the Commission. The consensus of the Commission was the most recent draft is a step in the right direction, an improvement over what is in the Code. Ayes: 6 Nays: 0 Motion carried: 6-0 6.Information and Reports a.Group Homes Report Dennis Welsch and Thomas Paschke explained the Council discussion regarding Group Homes--the staff is to prepare either policy or regulation that the Council can review, which states that Group Homes must abide by all requirements of an R-1 zone. A proposal will be prepared and submitted to the Planning Commission for their comments. The Council has asked the staff to change its notice procedure to include a provision to notice property owners within 350 feet or use a radius which is a distance the equivalent to the longest horizontal measurement of the project boundary, whichever is greater.
