<br />City of <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />Handbook for Roseville City Councilmembers, <br />Citizen Advisory Commission Members, and <br />City Staff <br /> <br />Different Roles, One Goal: <br />What's Best for Roseville <br /> <br />As CounciImembers, Citizen Advisory Commission Members, and <br />City Staff, all of us want to serve Roseville as well as we can. We do <br />this by trying to do what is best for Roseville residents. And we want <br />to do that in an ethical and efficient way. <br /> <br />In this effort to serve Roseville, each of us has different responsibili- <br />ties and roles. This Handbook describes these different roles. It also <br />contains some ideas for how we can successfully carry out these roles <br />and contribute to a better Roseville. <br /> <br />Within this Handbook many common questions regarding the opera- <br />tion of Roseville City government are answered. There are ethical <br />"dos and don'ts" for all of us as public servants. We discuss in a <br />practical, down-to-earth way the basics of parliamentary procedure. <br />It is important for us to know how to run and successfully participate <br />in public meetings of City bodies. There is frank advice about group <br />dynamics. <br /> <br />This Handbook concludes with some tips for successful problem <br />solving and for creating positive relationships among the various <br />participants in our Roseville city government. <br /> <br />1 <br />
