o Herb Dickhudt - what about direction on the shoulders? Most kids
ride against traffic. This seems un-safe, if the bike lane was striped,
they could see the direction they are supposed to go.

o Tom Urbanski - it's easier to follow a bicycle rider going the same
way as traffic - as well as they should follow all traffic rules.

o Jan Vanderwall - at Falcon Heights elementary school, students in
grades K- 3 go thru bike safety.

o Maggie Kahler - On B2 & Hamline people use the bike lane as a turn
lane.

o Pam Harris - Finds the bike lanes confusing some times they are
solid, and some times dashed, both in Minneapolis and on Grand
Avenue. Doesn't know if you are supposed to turn around it, or if
it's safe to turn thru it.

o Jamie Radel - asked what the general rule is.

· Kids follow what their parents do, and as adults this is how we behave as
drivers, bicyclers &/or walkers.

o Tom Urbanski - People are afraid they are going to use their front
yards for pathways.

o Sarah Brodt Lenz - Right of Way is 10' - 15' into their front yards.

o Maggie Kahler - un-even pathways are very dangerous to elders as
is pathway's that do not get plowed.

o Jan Parker - Places to sit should be important especially for the
elderly.

o Tom Urbanski - Handicap accessible bus stops. Example;
occasionally a bus stops at or where the curb is lower and its hard
for some individuals to step down that far.

· Overview of County Road B-2 Pathway - Deb Bloom, City Engineer
answered questions about the future plans and financial situations.

o B-2 pathway was completed from Lexington westward to connect to
the regional trail system that goes to the quarry in St. Anthony.

o There is not a moratorium at this time - recalls a discussion, but
none approved by the city council.

o No grants are available to apply for at this time. Last grant was a
pathway grant for Victoria Street, but there were not enough points
for the application to get approved.

o When asked about current money available for pathways. Deb
answered that, at this time there is not a plan, but thru the
workshop maybe it can be planned.

o Maggie Kahler - what is the policy on plowing sidewalks &
pathway's in Roseville? With a 2" snowfall all sidewalks &
pathway's in Roseville.
