<br />City of Roseville - Planning Commission Minutes for June 7, 2006http://www.ci.roseville.mn.us/council/planning/minutes/2006/pm0607.htm <br />C ITY C OUNCIL <br />City of Roseville <br />Planning Commission Meeting <br />Wednesday, June 7, 2006 <br />1.Call to Order <br />Chair Traynor called the June 7, 2006 regular meeting of the City of Roseville Planning Commission to order at 7:00 PM in <br />the Roseville City Hall Council Chambers. <br />2.Welcome, Roll Call <br />Present: Chair Traynor; Commissioners White; Roe; Wozniak; Doherty; Bakeman; and Boerigter <br />Absent: <br />Staff present: Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd, City Planner Thomas Paschke, City Engineer Debra Bloom <br />3.Approval of Minutes <br />Mr. Paschke advised that the minutes were still in draft form, and requested review by the Commissioners and comment <br />prior to preparation of a final draft by staff. Mr. Pashke advised that the information related to the proposed Sign Ordinance <br />was still under review, due to computer issues. <br />Chair Traynor recommended individual Commissioners review the draft minutes as presented, and provide email <br />comment to staff; and withheld formal review until the next meeting. <br />4.Communications and Recognitions <br />a.From the Public: <br />none <br />b.From the Commission: <br />Commissioner Bakeman commented that she would like a report on the community visioning process to-date; and <br />would like to discuss the procedure for Planning Commissioner notification of upcoming meetings and proposed <br />agenda items. <br />Chair Traynor recommended discussion of these items prior to adjournment; advising the need to confirm the <br />meeting date for July due to the holiday; and a reminder of the upcoming joint Planning Commission/City Council <br />meeting. <br />5.Public Hearings <br />a.Planning File 3758: Request by L. A. Fitness for a REZONING & CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT to redevelop <br />the former Mastell Brothers site at 2420 Cleveland Avenue into a 55,000 square foot health/fitness club. <br />Chair Traynor opened the Public Hearing. <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke reviewed the request of L. A. Fitness for approval of a rezoning (from I-1, Light <br />Industrial District to B-2, Retail Business District) and a Conditional Use Permit to allow the redevelopment of the <br />fitness center. <br />Mr. Paschke noted that the 5.9 acre subject parcel was located between Golf Galaxy/Schmidt Music (north) and Joe <br />Sensers (south) with frontage road (Cleveland Avenue) and I-35W to the west.
