City of Roseville - Planning Commission Minutes for July 12, 2006http://www.ci.roseville.mn.us/council/planning/minutes/2006/pm0712.htm <br />decision-making regarding the land use issue; and spoke in support of proceeding with approval, with the tweaking <br />of several of the conditions outlined by staff. <br />Mr. Phillips advised that such a design had been his first choice, but with the flooding on the south side the lot, it <br />several of the points made by Mr. Golinvaux, that the majority of the concerns expressed by Mr. Golinvaux were <br />those best dealt with by the applicant and Mr. Golinvaux; and Chair Traynor encouraged both parties to work <br />together cooperatively to come to a solution that would benefit both parties. <br />Chair Traynor reminded Commissioners of the need for consistency in the redevelopment of all of these <br />dealerships and the conditions applied to conditional user permit approvals. <br />Chair Traynor expressed his preference to table the matter to a future meeting, but lacking Commission <br />consensus, instead encouraged the applicant and adjacent property owners and interested parties to work together <br />resolution prior to the Council meeting. <br />Motion: Member Boerigter moved, seconded by Member Doherty, to RECOMMEND APPROVAL of a <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT for Walser Automotive Group at 2775 Highway 35W, based on the findings of <br />Section 5 and conditions of Section 6 of the project report dated July 12, 2006; as amended to reflect <br />6.1a, revised to increase the overall size to a maximum of 50,000 square feet as requested by the applicant <br />for flexibility, with his anticipating the final square footage will be under that maximum; and addition of <br />condition 6.1(m): All rooftop mechanicals will be completely screened. <br />Ayes: 4 <br />Nays: 1 <br />Abstain: 0 <br />Motion carried: 4-1 <br />Chair Traynor reviewed the process for the July 24, 2006 City Council review of the Planning Commission <br />recommendation. <br />9 of 122/6/2007 11.11 <br /> <br />
