Chair Bakeman opened the hearing and requested that Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd
provide a verbal summary of the project report dated May 5, 2006.
Lloyd provided the background on the VARIANCE request indicating that the Brown
driveway at 3086 South Owasso Boulevard lies 24 feet from the property line adjacent to
an intersection street (corner lot). Corner lots require a minimum driveway setback of 30
feet (Section 703.04) thus the request is for a 6-foot variance.
Lloyd indicated that similar circumstances/hardships apply to this VARIANCE as did in
the other two - staff concluded no reasonable alternatives exist and no impact on general
health, safety, and welfare of neighborhood. Staff recommends approval of the 6-foot
VARIANCE.
Property owner indicated they would like to keep a tree that would be lost and that if the
driveway were replaced to Code it would end up near the home’s living room.
Member Doherty moved, seconded by Member Boerigter, to approve a 6-foot
VARIANCE to Section 703.04 of the Roseville City Code, based on the comments in
Section 3 of the project report dated May 3, 2006.
Ayes: 3 Nays: 0 Abstain: 0
Motion Carried: 3 to 0.
Chair Bakeman explained the process and appeals for the decision.
Adjourn:
5:55 p.m.
