<br />Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />June 11, 1986 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />B. The Commission discussed the AIDS issue. Brenda <br />indicated that a Roseville man has ARC, which is <br />related to AIDS. Brenda indicates she has called the <br />AIDS Hotline to find out what other governmental <br />organizations are doing regarding AIDS. She has <br />invited Eric Engstrom of the Minnesota AIDS Project to <br />speak to the Commission at its July 8 meeting. <br /> <br />Brenda suggested the Commission should get all available <br />information about AIDS, including information from <br />major governmental units, and plan a forum with public <br />health officials and other officials regarding the AIDS <br />issue in an effort to develop a policy on how to deal <br />with the AIDS issue. <br /> <br />Matts indicated she feels the AIDS issue is a complex <br />one to try to develop a definitive policy about. She <br />does agree that it is a good idea to keep up with this <br />issue. <br /> <br />Brenda suggested that other commissions be invited to <br />the Engstrom presentation. <br /> <br />C. Brenda presented several newspaper articles about human <br />rights issues. <br /> <br />D. Brenda discussed the nofault grievance packet, explaining <br />the various materials in the packet and indicating <br />that when a Commissioner uses a packet for a grievance, <br />the Commissioner should request another packet from Ron <br />Moorse. <br /> <br />VI. Next Meeting <br />The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 1986, at <br />7:00 p.m. Eric Engstrom, from the Minnesota AIDS Project, <br />will be the guest speaker. <br /> <br />VII. Adjournment <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m. <br />
