<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />Tuesday, April 14, 1987 <br /> <br />I . <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was <br />7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />called to order by Chairperson Thomas at <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Members present: <br /> <br />Bailey, King, Matts, McKenzie, Nackerud, <br />Oberdorfer, and Thomas. <br /> <br />Members absent: <br /> <br />Borden and Jenkins. <br /> <br />Others present: <br /> <br />Moorse, Staff. <br /> <br />III. Business <br />A. McKenzie moved, Matts seconded, that the nominations of <br />Nackerud for Chairperson and King for Vice-Chair be <br />accepted and that nominations then be closed. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Unanimous. <br /> <br />The Commission unanimously approved Nackerud as <br />Chairperson and King as Vice-Chairperson. <br /> <br />B. Moorse was directed to notify the Department of Human <br />Rights that Nackerud is the new Chairperson. <br /> <br />C. The Commission discussed a complain from a person who <br />was told she would not be hired because she was preg- <br />nant. <br /> <br />Thomas indicated she will follow-up with the State <br />Department on the complaint. <br /> <br />D. Nackerud thanked Thomas for leading the Commission <br />through a very good year, and encouraged suggestions <br />from the membership concerning the activities of the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Nackerud also suggested that King continue the series <br />of articles in the local Roseville paper. <br /> <br />IV. Next Meeting <br />The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 12, at 7:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />V. Adjournment <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br />
