<br />"HUMAN RIGHTS EXCELLENCE AWARD" <br /> <br />An Annual Award made <br />by the <br />Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />in recognition of <br /> <br />Excellence in Human Riqhts <br /> <br />in the business and professional life of the <br />Roseville Community. <br /> <br />criteria <br />1. The award is given in recognition of an act, policy, or <br />practice which secures, protects, or enhances human rights in <br />the marketplace. <br /> <br />2. The human rights to be recognized are those of equal oppor- <br />tunity as guaranteed by Minnesota Human Rights Law, which <br />prohibits discrimination because of race, color, creed, <br />religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, dis- <br />ability, or dependence on public assistance. <br /> <br />3. Nominations may be made by employers (for themselves or <br />others), employees, or the general public, and shall be sub- <br />mitted with a written statement to the Roseville Human Rights <br />Commission, Roseville City Hall, 2660 civic Center Drive, <br />Roseville, MN 55113. <br /> <br />4. The award shall be made annually, in the form of a traveling <br />plaque, sponsored by the Roseville Rotary Club. <br /> <br />Guidelines <br />1. The award shall be made to a business entity or nonprofit <br />service organization located in or serving Roseville. <br /> <br />2. The award may recognize a single act, a series of acts over a <br />period of time, a policy or a practice. <br /> <br />3. Consideration will be given to the breadth of influence <br />exerted by the act, policy, or practice. <br /> <br />4. Consideration will be given to those acts, policies, or <br />practices which have an impact on more than one class of <br />vulnerable people. <br /> <br />5. Priority shall be given to the intentional protection and <br />enhancement of human rights. <br /> <br />6. While planned as an annual award, it may be omitted if worthy <br />nominations are not received. <br />
