HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES TUESDAY, JUNE 13, 1989 1. Call to Order The meeting was 7:30 p.m. called to order by Chairman Bob King at II. Roll Call Members present: David Bailey, Stan Borden, Bob King, Mary Litsheim, and Vickie Wright. Excused Absence: Zoe Jenkins, Edythe Nackerud, and Thelma McKenzie. Unexcused Absence: Betchen Oberdorfer. Others present: Ron Moorse, staff. III. Approval of Minutes Borden moved, Bailey seconded, that the minutes of the May 9, 1989 meeting be approved. IV. Business 1. Julv and Auqust Meetinqs The Commission members discussed whether meetings were needed in July and August. It was determined that the Commission will not meet in July or August, but the subcommittees will continue their work through the summer as needed. King will also assign any grievances that come in during the summer. 2. Grievances King indicated the two parties could not agree, and the grievance will go to the State. 3. Orqanization of Grievance Files The Commission discussed the need for an index or summary listing of the No Fault Grievances to enable quarterly reports regarding the types of grievances received and the level at which they are handled. The Commission directed Moorse to work with the Administra- tive Secretary to develop an index and a quarterly report for the months of June, July, and August. 4. Human Riqhts Seminar The city of New Brighton's Human Rights Commission is sponsoring a Human Rights Seminar. The Roseville Commission may want to set up a booth at that seminar. 5. Human Riqhts Award The Commission discussed the logo to be used with the Human Rights Award. It was determined that staff will provide two or three rough draft ideas to Stan Borden by mid July for the logo.
