<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 13, 1989 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was <br />7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />called to order by Chairman Bob King at <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Members present: <br /> <br />David Bailey, Stan Borden, Bob King, <br />Mary Litsheim, and Vickie Wright. <br /> <br />Excused Absence: Zoe Jenkins, Edythe Nackerud, and Thelma <br />McKenzie. <br /> <br />Unexcused Absence: Betchen Oberdorfer. <br /> <br />Others present: Ron Moorse, staff. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Minutes <br />Borden moved, Bailey seconded, that the minutes of the <br />May 9, 1989 meeting be approved. <br /> <br />IV. Business <br />1. Julv and Auqust Meetinqs <br />The Commission members discussed whether meetings were <br />needed in July and August. It was determined that the <br />Commission will not meet in July or August, but the <br />subcommittees will continue their work through the <br />summer as needed. <br /> <br />King will also assign any grievances that come in <br />during the summer. <br /> <br />2. Grievances <br />King indicated the two parties could not agree, and the <br />grievance will go to the State. <br /> <br />3. Orqanization of Grievance Files <br />The Commission discussed the need for an index or <br />summary listing of the No Fault Grievances to enable <br />quarterly reports regarding the types of grievances <br />received and the level at which they are handled. The <br />Commission directed Moorse to work with the Administra- <br />tive Secretary to develop an index and a quarterly <br />report for the months of June, July, and August. <br /> <br />4. Human Riqhts Seminar <br />The city of New Brighton's Human Rights Commission is <br />sponsoring a Human Rights Seminar. The Roseville <br />Commission may want to set up a booth at that seminar. <br /> <br />5. Human Riqhts Award <br />The Commission discussed the logo to be used with the <br />Human Rights Award. It was determined that staff will <br />provide two or three rough draft ideas to Stan Borden <br />by mid July for the logo. <br />
