<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, MAY 9, 1989 <br /> <br />Before the meeting was officially called to order, Bob King <br />addressed the issue of standing committees. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bob King at <br />7:44 p.m. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members present: <br /> <br />stan Borden, Bob King, Zoe Jenkins, Mary <br />Litsheim, David Bailey, and Betchen <br />Oberdorfer. <br /> <br />Excused Absences: Vickie Wright, Edythe Nackerud, and <br />Thelma McKenzie. <br /> <br />Others present: Irene Dolan MOlitor, representative from <br />the Rotary Club, and Brian Heck, staff. <br /> <br />III. Business <br />Chairman King suggested a change in the agenda, moving the <br />Human Relations Award discussion to Item No.1. It was <br />agreed. <br /> <br />A. stan Borden introduced Irene Dolan MOlitor, and she <br />gave a brief outline of her background. She is an <br />EEO/AA consultant and a recent member of the Rotary <br />Club. <br /> <br />Borden then moved on to discuss the reason for having a <br />Human Relations Award. He presented a draft of the <br />nominating/selection criteria. <br /> <br />The title of the award could be one of the following: <br /> <br />Excellence in Human Rights <br />Human Rights in the Market Place <br />Human Rights Excellence Award <br /> <br />Borden read through the criteria, noting that he based <br />it on the State Human Rights Award criteria. <br />
