<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 1990 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was <br />7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />called to order by Chairman Bob King at <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />David Bailey, stanley Borden, Edythe <br />Nackerud, Robert King, Jacquelyn Lindberg, <br />and Mary Litsheim. <br /> <br />Excused Absence: Zoe Jenkins, Thelma McKenzie, and Betchen <br />Oberdorfer. <br /> <br />Unexcused Absence: Vickie Wright. <br /> <br />others Present: Ron Moorse, staff. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the December meeting were approved. <br /> <br />IV. Business <br />A. New Commission Member Selection Process: <br />Bailey moved, Litsheim seconded, that due to the unique <br />types of service, duties, and the time commitment <br />required of Human Rights Commission members, the <br />Commission offer to assist the City Council in the <br />selection process of new Commission members by having <br />a member participate in the Commission interviews as an <br />advisor, and by submitting information regarding a posi- <br />tion profile and criteria for selection. The motion <br />was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />Bailey agreed to draft a letter, regarding the selec- <br />tion process, to the city Council. <br /> <br />Litsheim suggested that if the Commission plans to <br />become involved in additional activities, additional <br />Commission members will be needed. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Grievance Update: <br />Litsheim explained her grievance. <br />to negotiate a settlement.
