<br />Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes, October 8, 1991 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />c) Asian/Pacific Islander Event--Roseda1e has been con- <br />tacted and City staff have advised us that the <br />insurance requirements are not a problem. The <br />Committee will have more on this in future months. <br /> <br />d) North Suburban Commission's Seminar--Bob Bancrott <br />reported that the seminar will be held Saturday, <br />November 16, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in Murzon <br />Hall, Columbia Heights. The topic of "Hate Crimes" <br />will be the focus and will feature several excellent <br />speakers. This workshop will be open to the public. <br /> <br />commissioners will make a special effort to encour- <br />age attendance by the city Council, City statt, <br />business and community leaders. Each community <br />(Arden Hills, Fridley, Falcon Heights, Rosev i 11 e, <br />and Columbia Heights) will do their own ma.i1ings, <br />press releases, and recruitment. <br /> <br />3. Essav Competition <br /> <br />The Commission would like to present the awards at a <br />December City Council meeting. Deutsch will follow-up. <br />The Commission would hold their December meeting after <br />the Awards presentation. <br /> <br />V. Other Business <br /> <br />A. Leaque of Human Riqhts Commission <br />Thelma McKenzie described the purpose, philosophy and struc- <br />ture of the League. Copies of the League Bylaws were dis- <br />tributed. <br /> <br />McKenzie agreed to make sure all of the Roseville Commis- <br />sioners are placed on the League mailing list. <br /> <br />B. Budqet Report <br />The Commissioners reviewed the budget for 1991 and 1992. <br />The Commission will work with City staff to obtain financial <br />information on a more regular basis and to find ways to Lund <br />the new educational projects that are planned. <br /> <br />C. Information Exchanqe <br />The Commissioners received handouts on "Roseville City <br />Profile," "Terminology" and "Diversity." <br /> <br />VI. Next Meetinq <br />The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 1991, at <br />7:00 p.m. Wayne Groff, Chair of the Falcon Heights commission, <br />will join us to explore ideas for cooperative ventures. <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />Adlournment <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. <br />
