The Committee will have more on this in future months. d) North Suburban Commission's Seminar--Bob Bancrott reported that the seminar will be held Saturday, November 16, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in Murzon Hall, Columbia Heights. The topic of "Hate Crimes" will be the focus and will feature several excellent speakers. This workshop will be open to the public. commissioners will make a special effort to encour- age attendance by the city Council, City statt, business and community leaders. Each community (Arden Hills, Fridley, Falcon Heights, Rosev i 11 e, and Columbia Heights) will do their own ma.i1ings, press releases, and recruitment. 3. Essav Competition The Commission would like to present the awards at a December City Council meeting. Deutsch will follow-up. The Commission would hold their December meeting after the Awards presentation. V. Other Business A. Leaque of Human Riqhts Commission Thelma McKenzie described the purpose, philosophy and struc- ture of the League. Copies of the League Bylaws were dis- tributed. McKenzie agreed to make sure all of the Roseville Commis- sioners are placed on the League mailing list. B. Budqet Report The Commissioners reviewed the budget for 1991 and 1992. The Commission will work with City staff to obtain financial information on a more regular basis and to find ways to Lund the new educational projects that are planned. C. Information Exchanqe The Commissioners received handouts on "Roseville City Profile," "Terminology" and "Diversity." VI. Next Meetinq The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 1991, at 7:00 p.m. Wayne Groff, Chair of the Falcon Heights commission, will join us to explore ideas for cooperative ventures. VII. Adlournment The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
