<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, JULY 14, 1992 <br /> <br />I. All ayes. <br /> <br />LMHRC Response to Acts of Bias. McKenzie represented the <br />League of MN Human Rights Commissions, giving us an update <br />of the League's "Response to Acts of Bias". July 14 also <br />happened to be the day of the League's kickoff at the state <br />capitol of "A statewide Campaign Against Hate and Bigotry <br />and to Celebrate our Diversity." McKenzie shared the press <br />release which includes a pledge form and the Response Model <br />wi th our commission. The League will forward copies of this <br />material to each member commission. commission members <br />discussed options for responding to such acts within <br />Roseville, and Larmore and Trainor volunteered to become the <br />key contact members for residents. Deutsch will contact <br />Chief of Police Jim Zelinsky regarding how to set up systems <br />for learning of such acts. Kushner will give information to <br />the City'S public information officer to send a press <br />release to the newspapers on the League's activities and the <br />Commission's participation. She will also check on the <br />possibility of having a large poster made up asking <br />residents to sign the pledge if they agree. <br /> <br />Mul ticul tural Event. The task force reported that the <br />following assignments were made: <br /> <br />. Anderson will get information on origami artists and <br />instrumentalists. <br />. Deutsch will get information on Native American dancers. <br />. Bancroft will get information on dragon dancers, the <br />traveling exhibit of African American art at the st. <br />Paul museum and the 3M Black American Club. <br />. Larmore will get information from The Loft on ethnic <br />readings, from the Roseville Historical society and from <br />Photography Clubs for possible slide presentations. <br />
