Human Riqhts Commission Minutes September 15. 1992 D. Reflect Respect Deutsch reported that the proposal for the grant was now completed. A copy of the grant proposal is available if anyone would like to read it. Deutsch will continue to keep the commission posted as the project develops. E. Grievance Update Deutsch reported that two inquiries had been received. One involved a situation where the caretaker of an elderly person was abusing their authority. The caller talked to the victim and the victim did not want to pursue the grievance. The other situation involved a complaint about a Roseville business refusing to take the check of the caller's son. Numerous telephone messages have not yet been returned by the caller, but Deutsch will continue to pursue. Deutsch talked to Joyce Rood of the Department of Human Rights. Grievance training will be held on October 24th in Shoreview at the Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is the entry-level grievance training. commissioners who have not received grievance training in the past should plan to attend. Deutsch will make sure that Commissioners receive invitations. VIII. Other Business. Kushner reported that the city of Roseville is proceeding with their ADA compliance and would like the commission to review the plan when finished. Also, calls from residents are coming in to the City regarding private businesses in Roseville. Since the city has no jurisdiction to enforce ADA, Kushner suggested there might be a role for the Commission to intervene in such situations. Deutsch will add this item to a future agenda for discussion. IX. Next Meetinq The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 1992 at 7:00 p.m. ALL AVAILABLE COMMISSIONERS SHOULD PLAN TO ATTEND THE OCTOBER 3 MULTICULTURAL EVENT AT ROSEDALE. VI.
