that has already submitted a proposal asking for a detailed <br />outline of what would be covered at a training session. <br />McKenzie suggested a two day session spread over six weeks. <br />McKenzie also mentioned that the League is considering setting <br />up a training session in September to teach mediation <br />procedures and techniques. The League training session would <br />be open to at least one person from each commission located <br />throughout the State. <br />Norrgard made the motion that staff should do a rough draft <br />RFP for the April meeting, asking the organizations to develop <br />a pilot program for the Commission. <br />Norrgard moved, Waite seconded the motion. Roll Call: All <br />ayes. <br />IX. Other Business <br />1) Deutsch gave a review of the videotape "Dispute <br />Resolution Workshop". She suggested that the Commission <br />meet 1/2 hour early to watch the videotape. <br />2) Deutsch presented a cable update. She had a meeting with <br />Jerry Beck, Publications Specialist, to discuss various <br />options for future cable television productions. They <br />include: <br />a) written bulletins <br />b) cablecast tapes that have been recorded previously, <br />then edited by the Commission <br />c) cablecast Human Rights Commission meetings <br />d) videotape an interview and cablecast it <br />e) Public Service Announcements. <br />f) Human Rights Update. <br />3) Norrgard made the motion that the Roseville Human Rights <br />Commission thank and commend Mary Helen Deutsch for her <br />commitment to the goals and objectives of the Human <br />Rights Commission, for her overall advocacy and effective <br />leadership and for her vision in guiding the Human Rights <br />Commission in the development of a strategic plan, and <br />especially for her perseverance, values, integrity, and <br />thoughtfulness in leading the Human Rights Commission in <br />its outreach to our community. <br />Norrgard moved, Trainor seconded the motion. Roll Ca11: <br />All ayes. <br />4) Anderson mentioned legislation amending the Human Rights <br />Act to cover discrimination due to sexual preference. <br />Anderson will submit a copy of the draft bill for the <br />Commission's information. <br />
