HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 8, 1993 <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Commission Chair Waite at <br />7:30 p.m. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members present: Dave Norrgard, Mary Jean Turinia <br />Anderson, Stan Borden, Thelma McKenzie, <br />Michael Trainor, Maria Reed, Kim Waite, <br />Bob Bancroft <br />Excused absences: Linda Larmore, Jackie Kozak <br />Others present: Sarah Bellefuil, Administrative Intern <br />III. Approval of Minutes <br />Trainor moved, Borden seconded, that the minutes of May 11, <br />1993 be approved. Roll Call: All ayes. <br />IV. Cable Update <br />Waite attended the May 27, 1993 Cable Commission meeting. She <br />stated that only two people were present at the meeting. She <br />also mentioned that the May 31 Reflect Respect meeting was <br />video taped and that the Cable Commission plans to edit the <br />tape and broadcast it on the local cable channel. <br />V. Update on Youth Commissioner <br />Borden moved, Bancroft seconded, that the Commission advertise <br />for the position of youth consultant in both the June 29 and <br />July 6 additions of the Roseville Review and the Roseville <br />Focus. That the position be posted in the City Hall, Activity <br />Center, and Ice Arena, and that interviews take place Tuesday, <br />August 10th, before the Commission meeting. <br />Reed offered to write a set of 5 questions for the youth <br />consultant interview. <br />VI. Goals and Objectives for 1993 <br />1) Education: <br />A. Essav Contest <br />Norrgard stated that he would like to take a major <br />role in planning the Essay Contest. <br />B. Multi-Cultural Event <br />Borden read the November 1992 minutes reviewing <br />last years Multi-Cultural Event. Norrgard asked if <br />the Commission wanted to tackle the Multi-Cultural <br />Event again this year. Anderson suggested that <br />
