this year the Commission contact the retailers that <br />will be effected by the event before it occurs. <br />McKenzie stated that she would like to be in charge <br />of the Multi-Cultural Event again this year. The <br />Commission determined that the Event should take <br />place on October 23, 1993. This would tie into <br />United Nations Day on October 24th. Waite stated <br />that she would write to the Falcon Heights, <br />Shoreview, and Arden Hills HR Commissions, and the <br />Roseville Chamber of Commerce to see if they would <br />be interested in sronsoring the Event. <br />C. Roseville Rosefest Parade <br />Bancroft stated that he is interested in putting <br />together a float for the Rosefest Parade. He <br />stated that he would talk to the North Star Chorus <br />to see if they would be interested in performing in <br />the parade on behalf of the Commission. <br />Borden stated that some songs may be considered <br />offensive and that the words of each song would <br />have to be reviewed before they were used in the <br />parade. <br />McKenzie moved, Borden seconded, that the North <br />Star Chorus be invited to perform in the Rosefest <br />Parade on behalf of the Commission. Also, that the <br />words to the songs sung during the parade be <br />reviewed by Borden and Bancroft. <br />D. Student Member <br />E. Cable T.V. project <br />2) Sias Hate Crime: <br />Trainor stated that he would like to be in charge of <br />Bias Hate Crime response. Trainor stated that the <br />Commission has to formalize an action plan that would <br />allow the Commission to respond quickly to Bias Hate <br />Crimes when they occur in Roseville.
