<br />Roseville Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />September 13, 1994 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />YOUTH CONSULTANT <br /> <br />The need for a youth consultant was advertised in May of <br />1994 and no applications were received. The notice was <br />again advertised with the deadline for sUbmitting applica- <br />tions of Friday, September 23. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the importance of selecting a new <br />youth consultant to work with the Commission. It was <br />decided that a notice would be sent to Roseville area and <br />Mounds View High Schools for placement in the school news- <br />papers and to place the notice on Cable TV Channel 16. <br /> <br />Mike Hermes suggested that perhaps a team of High School <br />students would be willing to do a cable production <br />relating to human rights. <br /> <br />VIII. HUMAN RIGHTS EXCELLENCE AWARD <br />Larissa Rippley indicated the nomination form for the <br />award will be in the October City Newsletter. There will <br />also be a press release and a notice on Cable TV. <br /> <br />IX. LEAGUE CONFERENCE <br />The League of Minnesota Human Rights Commission's <br />conference is scheduled for September 24. Mike Trainor <br />will participate on a panel to review Roseville' s Hate <br />Crime Response Plan. <br /> <br />Thelma McKenzie reported on activities of the State <br />League. She indicated the additional dates for No Fault <br />Grievance Training would be November 5, 6, 12, and 13. <br /> <br />X. GRIEVANCE UPDATE <br />Mary Jean Turinia Anderson indicated she is currently <br />working on a grievance. Stan Borden reported he was <br />involved in a grievance during the summer which closed <br />without resolution. <br /> <br />XI. NEXT MEETING <br />The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 11, <br />1994, at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />XII. Adiournment <br />Stan Borden moved, Mike Hermes seconded, that the meeting <br />be adjourned at 9:45 p.m. Roll Call, Ayes: All present. <br />Nays: None. <br />
