<br />I. <br /> <br />II . <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />V. <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 8, 1994 <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was <br />at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />called to order by Commission Chair Trainor <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Bob <br />Jill <br />Beatriz <br /> <br />Stan Borden, <br />Hermes I <br />Norrgard, <br /> <br />Michael Trainor, <br />Bancroft, Mike <br />Bergquist, David <br />Menanteau <br />Laura Kushner, Staff Liaison <br />Mary Jean Turinia Anderson, <br />Reed, Thelma McKenzie <br /> <br />Maria <br /> <br />Others Present: <br />Absences: <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes. A motion for approval of the February <br />8, 1994 Minutes was made by Mike Hermes and seconded by Mike <br />Trainor. All ayes. <br /> <br />Rosefest Parade. A letter was sent to the top three Essay <br />Contest winners informing them of the parade and asking them <br />to respond if there was going to be any problem with them <br />attending on June 27. Mike Hermes will prepare interview <br />questions for them to be interviewed on cable and send them <br />the questions ahead of time to prepare. Discussion was held <br />regarding the possibility of two Commission members riding <br />in the convertible along with the winners. <br /> <br />Posters. The League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions' <br />posters came in and it was decided to display the posters at <br />City Hall, the Activity Center, Ramsey County Library and <br />Fairview Community Center (if permitted) and at Roseville <br />High School and possibly on the parade car. Staff was asked <br />to purchase another set of four posters. <br /> <br />Bias/Hate Crime Report. Mike Trainor presented the final <br />draft of the Bias Hate Crime Response plan. David Norrgard <br />motioned to approve the plan and forward it to the City <br />Council for approval with Mike Trainor representing the <br />Commission. Beatriz seconded. All Ayes. <br /> <br />Mike also discussed a police report he received from the <br />Roseville Police Department regarding the distribution of <br />hate literature on McCarrons. Stan Borden called the phone <br />number on the literature. The individual who answered said <br />his name was Cliff Herrington (spelling?) and said it was <br />the headquarters of the National Socialist Front. Stan will <br />contact Mort Ryweck with this information. Staff will ask <br />the Roseville Police Department if it would be appropriate <br />to check on any criminal records on Mr. Herrington. <br /> <br />Mike also reported that there was a workshop scheduled in <br />Maplewood on March 16 from 4-6 pm and in Golden Valley on <br />
