<br />ROSEVILLE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 1995 <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Commission vice Chair <br />Hermes at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Members present: <br /> <br />Bob Bancroft, Jill Bergquist, stan <br />Borden, Mike Hermes, Thelma McKenzie, <br />Larissa Rippley, and Alex Schlief. <br /> <br />Excused Absences: Mary Jean Turinia Anderson and Mike <br />Trainor. <br /> <br />Unexcused Absences: Susan Forsyth. <br /> <br />Others present: steve North, Staff Liaison. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Minutes <br />Thelma McKenzie moved, Alex Schlief seconded, that the <br />minutes of the February 14, 1995, meeting be approved. Roll <br />Call, Ayes: All present. Nays: None. <br /> <br />IV. Bias/Hate Crimes <br />No report. <br /> <br />V. <br /> <br />Cable <br />Mike Hermes reported he had interviewed <br />Mike Trainor for a live cable program. <br />will run several times. <br /> <br />Commission Chair <br />The program tape <br /> <br />Mike indicated he has prepared a 30 second information ad <br />regarding the Human Rights Commission for use on cable. <br /> <br />VI. Human Riqhts Excellence Award <br />Stan Borden indicated the presentation of the Human Rights <br />Excellence Award, to Advance Circuits, was made at the <br />February 27, 1995 City Council meeting. Representatives <br />from Advance Circuits were very appreciative of the award. <br /> <br />stan will invite someone from Advance Circuits to speak at a <br />future Rotary meeting. The Commission extended thanks to <br />Stan for his excellent work on the Human Rights Excellence <br />Award. <br /> <br />VII. Grievance Update <br />No current grievances. <br /> <br />VIII. Commission Brochure <br />Thelma McKenzie reviewed several suggested changes to the <br />Commission brochure. She will talk to Mike Trainor <br />and provide the recommended changes to Steve North for <br />preparation of the new brochure. <br />
