Grievance Update <br />No report. <br /> <br />Stan Borden suggested that a presentation be made to the bar association informing <br />lawyers that local human rights commissions exist and are well-trained to handle <br />gnevances. <br /> <br />Jill Bergquist will replace Stan Borden as the commission's contact for grievances. <br /> <br />IX. Commission Brochnre <br />Thelma McKenzie made changes to the brochure as agreed to by the commission. A copy <br />of the final draft will be mailed along with the May agenda packet. <br /> <br />X. Other Business <br />A. Jill Bergquist requested that staff obtain a copy of a report by a state task force <br />regarding factors causing the glass ceiling. <br /> <br />B. Larissa Rippley stated that she will be resigning ii-om the commission in June <br />because she will be moving out ofRoseville. <br /> <br />C. Mike Hermes will draft a letter to the essay contest winners asking them if they <br />want to cany the torch at the Star of the North Torch Run. <br /> <br />D. Mike Trainor indicated that he would like to hold an organizational meeting to <br />prioritize issues for the coming year. Mr. Trainor will contact Sally Chial to <br />discuss this in further detaiL <br /> <br />E. There was general discussion about the recruitment of a new student member on <br />the commission. Motion by Rippley, seconded by Hermes, to advertise for a new <br />student member. <br />Roll call: Ayes: all present Nays: none <br />Mike Hermes requested that the advertisement be shown on cable television in <br />addition to the traditional recruitment sources. <br /> <br />F. Stan Borden was recognized for his nine years of service on the Human Rights <br />Commission. Mr. Borden will be formally recognized at the annual volunteer <br />commission banquet. <br /> <br />Xl. Next Meetin2 <br />The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 1995, at 7:00 PM <br />
