<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY. NOVEMBER 14.1995 <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Chair Mike Trainor at 7:00 p.rn. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members present: Jill Bergquist, Janet Henquinet, Mike Hermes, <br />Margaret Murphy Maertz, Mike Trainor, and Mary Jean <br />Turinia Anderson. <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />Members absent: Susan Forsyth, Thelma McKenzie <br /> <br />Others present: Marcy Cordes, Administrative Intern ~ <br /> <br />/Y' ,~ <br />Approval of Minutes Z-j/ <br />Mike Trainor moved, Mike Hermes seconded, that the minutes of.the~r <br />14, 1995 meeting be approved with the following amendments: <br /> <br />A. Section IV. Bias Hate Crimes, first sentence, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Mike Trainor reported that he had a discussion with the County Attorney <br />regarding the racist type vandalism in the City. <br /> <br />B. Section VI, Essay Contest, the following shall be added to the last <br />paragraph: <br /> <br />Mike Hermes will create a press release to advertise the essay contest in <br />the local papers. Jill Bergquist and Janet Henquinet will do the reading of <br />the essays. <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: All present. Nays: None. <br /> <br />IV. Bias/Hate Crimes <br />No report. <br /> <br />V. Cable TV <br />Mike Hermes indicated that he is planning to set film dates with some of the <br />Human Rights Commissions interested in participating in his cable TV show. <br />Shoreview and Maplewood should be ready for taping soon. Suggestions for the <br />title of the program included "Human RiQhts To~' and "Your HLl..l].anRights." <br />Jill Bergquist suggested that Mike contact the City of Crystal for a tape of a-- <br />Sheila Wellstone speech on domestic abuse to be broadcast on the program. <br />
