The Commission would also establish the interview process. <br />Janet Henquinet moved that sophomores be added as eligible for youth <br />appointments, in addition to juniors and seniors in high school. Jan Gordon <br />seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. City staff will forward <br />the notice to apply to local high school, churches, and the library. <br /> <br />Thelma McKenzie reported that the League of Minnesota Human Rights <br />Commissions was interested in sponsoring a statewide essay contest. They <br />also wanted to know if Roseville would take a leadership role in coordinating <br />the effort. Members agreed that Roseville would be interested, but would <br />need more information about the idea. Thelma McKenzie agreed to give the <br />feedback to the League. Jill Bergquist suggested that the idea be included on <br />the next agenda. <br /> <br />Mike Hermes noted that essay contest winners are invited to participate in the <br />Rosefest parade. It was agreed that the winners should be invited closer to <br />the parade date. <br /> <br />Thelma McKenzie announced that the League would be offering an 8-hour <br />mediation training session. She will bring more information to the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Isaac Afwerke passed out an announcement for training on understanding <br />and dismantling racism. The training is going to be held March 20-22 in St. <br />Paul. <br /> <br />7) Adjournment <br /> <br />Mike Hermes moved that the meeting be adjourned at 8:00.
