<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> <br />MONDAY, JUNE 10, 2002 <br /> <br />Call to Order <br /> <br />Newly appointed and reappointed Human Rights Commission members were sworn in at <br />the Roseville City Council meeting. Following the Swearing-In, Commission members <br />met. Acting Chair Thelma McKenzie called the meeting to order. <br /> <br />RollCall <br /> <br />Present: Mark Chapin, Martha Hardesty, Thelma McKenzie, Stephen Smith, Rita <br />Stanoch, Larry Voeller, Howard Wagner, Stephen Zorn, Staff Liaison Carolyn Curti <br /> <br />Excused Absence: Todd Anderson, Phillip Crump, Hannah Neprash <br /> <br />Member Introductions <br /> <br />Members introduced themselves and told why they became involved with the Human <br />Rights Commission. <br /> <br />Select a Chair <br /> <br />Thelma McKenzie has been Acting Chair of the Commission since November. The <br />Commission agreed to select the Chair at the July meeting. <br /> <br />Rose Parade <br /> <br />The Commission will again be in the Rose Parade, riding in a convertible. Staff will <br />invite the Roseville 2002 Essay Contest winners to ride/walk in the parade. Howard <br />Wagner requested that the City purchase metallic signs saying that the students were <br />Essay Contest winners. Members agreed to hand out candy along the parade route. <br /> <br />Handouts <br /> <br />Staff provided the following documents for Commission members to review: <br /> <br />· City Ordinance establishing Human Rights Commission <br />· Census Data Information specific to Roseville <br />
