<br />T <br /> <br /> <br />Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes, January 13, 2004 <br /> <br />Present: Thelma McKenzie, Chair; Steve Zorn, Vice-Chair, Mark Chapin, Janet Delmore, <br />Jacqueline LeMay, Larry Voeller, Howard Wagner <br />Absent: Phillip Crump, Steve Smith, Karen Vnuk <br />Staff: Carolyn Curti <br /> <br />Thelma McKenzie called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at <br />Roseville City Hall. <br /> <br />Approve Minutes <br /> <br />Mark Chapin moved approval of the minutes and Larry Voeller seconded. The minutes were <br />approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Essay Contest <br /> <br />Chair Thelma McKenzie asked Carolyn Curti to review the results of the essay contest. <br />Commissioners had scored the top 28 essays; scores were added and the top six essays were <br />identified. Winners are: <br /> <br />1st Place <br />2nd Place <br />3 rd Place <br />HM <br />HM <br />HM <br /> <br />Harry Keirn <br />Betsy Snyder <br />Deidre Konold <br />Peter LePalm <br />Peter Thein <br />Daniela Vazquez <br /> <br />8th Grade RAMS <br />8th Grade RAMS <br />8th Grade RAMS <br />7th Grade RAMS <br />8th Grade Parkview <br />8th Grade Parkview <br /> <br />Ms. Simmons <br />Ms. Simmons <br />Mr. Andrea <br />Mr. Johnson <br />Ms. Irwin <br />Ms. Irwin <br /> <br />Staff will send invitations to the essay contest winners and their families, teachers and principals to <br />the February 23 City Council meeting where they will receive their awards. The winners will be <br />invited to read their essays. Following the presentation, participants will be invited to a reception in <br />the lower level of City Hall. <br /> <br />Commission Meetings <br /> <br />Carolyn Curti told the Commissioners of several meetings that Commissioners are encouraged to <br />participate in. <br /> <br />. January 29 - 7:00-9:00 p.m. City Council Chambers. Discussion of the Twin Lakes Area <br />Development. <br /> <br />. January 31 - 10:00-3:00 p.m. Home and Garden Fair at the Fairview Community Center. <br /> <br />I <br />
