The <br />new rules should reflect the reduction to 7 members. Commissioners may want to make <br />additional changes. <br /> <br />I am including the letter that each September for the past three years the HRC has sent to <br />new teachers. This was put together in response to RAS Diversity Coordinator Johanna <br />Eager's request that we bolster the school's efforts to retain teachers of color. She told the <br />Commission that research showed teachers of color generally only stay one or two years, <br />and part of the reason they leave is they do not feel connected to the community. <br /> <br />'" <br />
