Rules for the Roseville Human Rights Commission Revised June, 1986 Name: The organization shall be called the ROSEVILLE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION, subsequently to be referred to as the Commission. Members: The Commission shall consist of ten (10) members to be appointed by the City Council. Policy: A. It shall be the public policy of the City of Roseville to fulfill its responsibility as a partner with the State Department of Human Rights in securing for all citizens equal oppor- tunity in housing, employment, public accommo- dations, public services and education, and to work consistently to improve the human relations climate of the City of Roseville. B. It shall be the policy of the Commission to be informed of all local, state, national and international events and trends which bear upon Human Rights as that term has been defined and implemented by loeal, state, national and international consensus. Purpose: The purpose of the Commission is to secure for all citizens equal opportunity in employment, housi~g, public accommodations, public services, and education and full partic- ipation in the affairs of this community by assisting the State Department of Human Rights in implementing the Minnesota Human Rights Acts, Chapter 363, 1984 and 1985, and by advising the City Council on long range programs to improve community relations in the City of Roseville. Or~anizational Structure: A. Officers: The officers of the Commission shall be the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Recording Secretary - (Staff Assistant) and Chairperson of specific committees. 1. Chairperson: (a) Shall be elected annually at the regular October meeting.
