<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Keeney agreed to be at the table from 4:00 to 5:00; Chair Delmore from 5:00 to <br />6:00; Commissioner Phil Crump from 6:00 to 7:00; and Commissioner Venters from 7:00 to 8:00 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioners tentatively agreed that the following topics be discussed. <br /> <br />· Clarify Mayor Klausing's remarks at the May 2006 meeting about the Human Rights <br />Commission recruiting more diversity into the community. Is that what the Council sees <br />as one of our roles? What else does the Council view as our tasks? <br />· How could the City and/or the HRC go about taking the "temperature of the City" in <br />regards to residents' attitudes regarding human rights? The Commission is not sure if the <br />visioning process will do that. <br />· How can the Commission encourage current residents to make people of diverse <br />backgrounds feel welcome in Roseville? <br />· Staff a table at the 4th of July celebration and report the feedback from residents <br />· Work with Police Department to improve communication with the Commission and with <br />residents. Examples ofproblems--car chase pursuit policy, underage drinking citations, <br />officers driving in the community. <br /> <br />Other possible issues include Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender issues and housing/renters <br />rights. <br /> <br />Commissioners agreed to meet at the August 8 meeting to finalize the topics before the August <br />14 meeting with the City Council. <br /> <br />Commissioner Crump moved and Commissioner Keeney seconded the meeting adjourn.
