<br />Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes - October 10, 2006 <br />Page 5 of 5 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Venters expressed enthusiasm for Mayor Klausing and Councilmember Pust's <br />support at the recent joint meeting of the Commission and City Council related to diversity; and <br />noted that the message needed to be encouraged from the City Council to the City Manager to staff. <br />Commissioner Venters suggested that comments and correspondence from the Commission used to <br />encourage staff to recognize the community's diversity be prefaced with language such as... "As <br />Mayor Klausing suggested..." <br /> <br />Commissioner McGehee opined that recent school violence issues were Human Rights issues <br />needing to be dealt with by local governments. <br /> <br />Chair Delmore referenced recent policies and events addressing ongoing violence concerns at local <br />schools. <br /> <br />Commissioner Venters opined his interest in hearing Mr. Miller's comments. <br /> <br />Discussion included whether a meeting with Roseville School District Superintendent would be <br />helpful; with Chair Delmore not supportive; and needed City Police Department policies on taser <br />use on children and on high speed chases. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br />Commissioner Venters moved and Commissioner McGehee seconded adjournment of the meeting <br />. at 7:53 p.m. <br /> <br />. <br />
