Other Business Chair Delmore volunteered to send a note of thanks the district representatives for their attendance and participation in tonight's discussion. Chair Delmore questioned if thank you letters were sent to out-going commissioners for their service on commissions. City Manager Malinen volunteered to bring up at the City Council level in the future for follow-up and policy discussion. Attendance Policy Commissioners discussed former Commissioner Keeney's recent resignation; the resulting vacancy; and attendance of other commissioners. Chair Delmore volunteered to e-mail Commissioner Crump and encourage his future attendance. Chair Delmore reconvened the regular business meeting for remaining agenda items at 7:53 p.m. Approval of Minutes As there was no quorum available, Chair Delmore rescheduled approval of the March 13,2007 meeting minutes to the May meeting. Follow-up Discussion - Meeting with RAS District 623 Commissioner Venters opined the importance of follow-up on recruiting a Youth Liaison for the HRC and suggested that Chair Delmore include it on next month's agenda for further discussion and follow-through. Commissioner McKenzie suggested that a criteria sheet be drawn up for discussion at the next meeting and seek district staff s input on the criteria to ensure student interest in serving on the HRC. Chair Delmore volunteered to follow-up with the St. Paul Foundation and contact information provided by Ms. Eager. Chair Delmore opined the importance of building on some of the other things previously discussed, such as City input and Police Department trust issues. Commissioner McGehee opined that the HRC should focus on schools and the community at this time specifically when the School District had sought assistance from the City in family support; and the Roseville citizens possibility facilitating and becoming involved with children's education, such as in apartment complexes with latchkey students, and the ability to provide community space to get people interested in spending time tutoring. Commissioner Delmore offered that she could train tutors.
