Roseville Public Works, Environment and
Transportation Commission

Agenda Item

Date: November 28, 2006

Item No: 5

Item Description: James Addition Discussion

This is a continued discussion from the October meeting where the Commission received input
from James Addition residents regarding the access issue. The results from the subsequent
discussion focused on continued discussion with Mn/Dot regarding the closure of the median.
There was also support from the residents to look further at signal options on Fairview Avenue.
Staff believes this would require significant traffic modeling to study the impacts of signals
given the offset close proximity intersections. There was little support for new access options
presented, which all required the removal of one or more homes.

We have invited representatives from MnlDot to the meeting for discussion regarding the access
issue and their position on closure. We will be looking for input from the Commission, as we get
closer to reporting back to the Council on this matter.

Recommended Action:

Discussion of next steps.
