<br />Item Out of Order <br /> <br />5. James Addition Access Alternatives Public Input Meeting <br /> <br />Residents had been invited to the meeting to provide their input. Duane <br />Schwartz presented the three alternatives the Commission selected as the <br />most viable. <br /> <br />Member Willenbring opened the floor for comments. <br /> <br />Craig Landkamer. 2612 Wheeler <br />He asked if anyone from the state was in attendance. Schwartz said no. <br />He wondered why the state couldn't have re-evaluated the closing at <br />Oakcrest now that Snelling has been reconfigured. He said it's ridiculous <br />that they're even closing the Oakcrest intersection and that none of the <br />alternatives address the real problem. He wants the state to reconsider <br />closing the intersection. <br /> <br />Rob Chase. 2558 Beacon <br />He thinks the Oakcrest and Snelling closing should be restudied and <br />doesn't like any of the alternatives. <br /> <br />Dan Stock. 2565 Fry St <br />He also thinks the Oakcrest and Snelling closing should be restudied. He <br />asked why in Alternatives A and B two streets are turned into cul-de-sacs <br />and one is opened to Fairview with a signal light, why can't all three <br />remain open. Schwartz said Ramsey County has jurisdiction over <br />Fairview, and the alternatives show their criteria for intersections. They <br />feel there would be too many problems with intersections being so close to <br />one another. <br /> <br />Tonv Rozvcki. 2557 Beacon St <br />His house is in the path of Alternatives A and B. He also wants the <br />Oakcrest & Snelling intersection to be reconsidered. He said of the three <br />alternatives, C would be best because it would cost less. He said if the <br />city land is used in that area, he sees four good alternatives to use instead <br />of taking people's homes. <br /> <br />David Austin, 2571 Beacon St <br />He said why not use park land at Lincoln for the lighted access since it's <br />not taking any homes and it puts the light closest to the commercial end of <br />the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Duane Schwartz said the county feels there isn't enough width on Lincoln <br />to put another turn lane there, plus it's too close to the Snelling <br />intersection. <br /> <br />Page 2 01'6 <br />
