<br />Roseville Public Works, Environment and <br />Transportation Commission <br /> <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />Date: February 27, 2007 <br /> <br />Item No: 7 <br /> <br />Item Description: James Addition Alternative Access <br /> <br />At the January PWETC, it was determined that language would be developed by stafffor <br />Commission review to summarize the findings of the Commission on the alternative access <br />issue. Staff offers the following for review and comment to submit to the City Council at its <br />March 12, 2007, meeting. <br /> <br />"The PWETC has studied alternative access to the James Addition, as requested by the City <br />Council. The Commission has fmalized its study of this issue without a recommended <br />alternative access. The Commission offers the following summary of actions and findings to the <br />Council regarding the alternative access issue. <br /> <br />1. The Commission studied six alternate access options based on property impacts, cost, <br />safety, and feasibility. <br />2. The three most viable options were presented to the neighborhood at the <br />Commission's October 2006 meeting. <br />3. The Commission met with Mn/DOT staff regarding closure of median policy. <br /> <br />"Findings: <br /> <br />. Resident feedback indicates a preference for leaving access as it exists today <br />. Residents attending the public meeting overwhelmingly oppose any alternative access <br />that would remove homes from the neighborhood <br />. Mn/DOT staff is holding firm on the issue of full closure of the median at Oakcrest on <br />Snelling Avenue <br />.
