Linda Higgins, DFL- <br />Minneapolis, final versions of the measure passed 114-16 in the <br />House and 63-1 in the Senate. <br /> <br />Electronics manufacturers must register with the Minnesota <br />Pollution Control Agency as of Sept. 1, which is also the date that <br />collectors and recyclers of e-waste must also register. <br /> <br />Starting Aug. 1,2008, recyclers and collectors must annually report <br />the weight of e-waste collected. As of Sept. 1,2008, manufacturers <br />must report annually the total weight of video display devices sold <br />the Minnesota households during the prior year. <br /> <br />"I think the most rewarding part of this process was the great <br />example of participatory democracy it provided," said Sailer. "A <br />wide range of stakeholders were able to voice their concerns and <br />the resulting legislation represents a balanced solution that fits the <br />needs of our state.
