<br />City of <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Planning Commission Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, May 2, 2007 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br />Acting Chair Bakeman called to order the Planning Commission meeting at 6:32 p.m. and <br />reviewed the role and purpose of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br /> <br />Members Present: Commissioners Barbara Martinson; Thomas Gottfried; Joe Wozniak; <br />Daniel Boerigter; Jim Doherty; and IIdephonse Gasongo; and Acting Chair Mary Bakeman. <br /> <br />Staff present: Community Development Director John Stark; City Planner Thomas Paschke; <br />Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd; Economic Development Associate Jamie Radel; and Joel <br />Koepp, GIS Technician. <br /> <br />3. Election of Chair and Vice Chair <br />Acting Chair Bakeman administered the Oath of Office and swore in commissioners Jim <br />Doherty and Daniel Boerigter, appointed by the City Council for their second terms. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Bakeman noted that, since the resignation in December of 2006 of former Chair <br />and Commissioner Mark Traynor, and with a full Commission again, election of a new Chair <br />was necessary. <br /> <br />Member Gottfried moved, seconded by Member Doherty, nomination of Commissioner <br />Bakeman as Planning Commission Chair. There were no other nominations. <br />Chair <br />Vice Chair <br /> <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Abstentions: 1 (Bakeman) <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Member Bakeman moved, seconded by Member Boerigter, nomination of <br />Commissioner Doherty as Planning Commission Vice Chair. There were no other <br />nominations. <br /> <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Abstentions: 1 (Doherty) <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. Four (4) Volunteers for Appointment to the Variance Board <br />Chair Bakeman sought four (4) volunteers to serve on the Variance Board. Commissioners <br />Martinson; Gottfried; Boerigter; and Doherty each volunteered. <br /> <br />Chair Bakeman thanked Commissioners for their willingness; and recommended those four <br />(4) Commissioners decide among them how they chose to serve on the Variance Board. <br /> <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke clarified the process that the four (4) names would be <br />submitted to the City Council for ratification, along with the nominated Chair and Vice Chair. <br />
