Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, June 18, 2007
Page 12
listening to tonight's meeting to get involved with and participate in
one or more of the clubs.
Mr. Myllenbeck expressed the concern of the clubs in getting signs up
to welcome people into Roseville opining that the City was an island
surrounded by cities already having welcome signs.
Mayor Klausing requested staff to make sure Mr. Myllenbeck was in-
cluded in future notices of advisory commissions and/or City Council
discussions on this subject.
Roll Call
Ayes: Pust; Ihlan; Roe and Klausing.
Nays: Kough.
b. Communications Plan -Consider Approving the Imagine Rose-
ville 2025 Communications Plan
Council and Subcommittee member Roe sought clarification from the
City Council on the discussion held at the last meeting and some is-
sues remaining unresolved: 1) discuss the Council and/or key staff
conducting community group presentations or discussions; and 2) dis-
cuss an ongoing role for a steering committee for communications and
other Imagine Roseville 2025 activities and implementation of that vi-
sion.
Mayor Klausing opined that he was supportive of the general concept
of the communications plan; and that the ongoing role for a steering
committee seemed prudent to encourage ongoing community-wide
participation. Mayor Klausing was less enthusiastic about endorsing
each specific point of the proposed plan, but was supportive of grant-
ing flexibility for staff to work with the steering committee on de-
tailed recommendations for or against each of the proposed aspects of
the plan.
Councilmember Roe noted that, if a steering committee was ~ sup-
ported, the Council would need to approve the appointment process,
role and charge for such a committee.
