Recognition -Proclamation -Proclaim August 7, 2007 as Na-
tional Night Out in Roseville
Mayor Klausing read the proclamation declaring National Night Out
2007.
Police Department Community Relations Coordinator and Crime pre-
vention Officer Heather Darby noted this was the 24th annual event
and Roseville's 15th year of involvement in the program, having won
national recognition in each of those 15 years. Ms. Darby mentioned
the donations received from several area businesses to further enhance
the evening, thanked the block captains for work organizing their
neighborhoods and encouraged other block parties to register with the
City at 651/792-7209 or by downloading an application from the Po-
lice Department's website. Ms. Darby noted that last year there were
over 70 block parties registered with the City and encouraged more
this year. Ms. Darby also noted that the City would kickoff National
Night Out the evening before with an event at Central Park for fami-
lies, with the City's safety departments in full attendance and many
family events scheduled.
Ms. Darby thanked the City's Parks and Recreation, Public Works,
Police and Fire Departments for their extra work in making the events
possible in various neighborhoods.
Mayor Klausing reiterated Ms. Darby's appreciation to City staff and
various departments for their participation in this wonderful activity
and encouraged all residents to participate.
Councilmember Kough also thanked the departments, and encouraged
block parties to register so Councilmembers could attend as many as
possible.
Kough moved, Pust seconded, Tuesday, August 7, 2007 as 24th An-
nual National Night Out in Roseville; and encouraged all neighbor-
hood groups to take advantage of the evening to promote cooperative,
police-community crime and drug prevention efforts and communica-
tion among neighbors.
Roll Call
