ity C~ ncii Stu y essi~ <br />~nday, July 16, 2007 <br />Page 3 <br />Mr. Neprash advised the City Council that he had comments to make <br />as a private citizen, not as a member of the City's Public Works, <br />Transportation and Environment Commission, on the Northwestern <br />College expansion and sought clarification as to when the City Coun- <br />cil would hear those comments. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that other than initial public comment on non- <br />agenda items, the City Council as a practice didn't hear public com- <br />ment on specific agenda items at Study Sessions in an effort to allow <br />the City Council adequate discussion time with staff. However, <br />Mayor Klausing noted that public comment would be heard at the up- <br />coming regular Council meeting where action would be taken on this <br />item. Mayor Klausing respectfully requested that Mr. Neprash pro- <br />vide his comments in writing by e-mail or letter to the City Council`s <br />attention, ~,vith a staff copy, to allow adequate research and response. <br />Mr. Neprash advised he would do so; and also noted that he would be <br />providing recommendations from the Public Works, Environment and <br />Transportation Commission to the City Council at the upcoming <br />meeting also. <br />4. Joint CounciUCommission Meeting -Meeting with the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission <br />Chair Jeff Johnson spoke on behalf of the Commission and introduced <br />commissioners present. Parks & Recreation Commission members <br />present included: Harold Ristow, James Stark, Jeff Johnson, Robert <br />Willmus, Gale Pederson, and Mark Kamrath. <br />Mayor Klausing complimented the Commission on the recent cere- <br />mony at Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANG) for the vision- <br />impaired sculptures, and thanked the Commission for their work and <br />achievement. <br />
