Variance Board Meeting <br />Minutes – Wednesday, February 07, 2007 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Bakeman opined that signs were intended to move traffic more freely <br />and to provide information; and that there was nothing in a variance that would call <br />into question whether a sign can be installed; and that the code supports approval. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Boerigter opined his appreciation of neighbor comments, but the need to <br />take the application into broader issues with that of the neighborhood and Lexington <br />Avenue. Acting Chair Boerigter further opined that he hoped the sign would prove <br />beneficial to the business and the aesthetics of the neighborhood; and that approving <br />this variance was appropriate and should prove justified to improve the site and more <br />efficiently direct Lexington Avenue traffic. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wozniak encouraged people in the neighborhood to work with the new <br />business owners on areas of mutual concern for the overall improvement of the <br />neighborhood and other possible enhancements to the property abutting residential <br />areas, without detracting from sight lines. <br /> <br />Ayes: 3 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Boerigter advised the applicant of the appeal process timeframe. <br /> <br />5.
