Variance Board Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, May 02, 2007 Page 6 Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd reviewed the request to allow construction of two additions to their home: a front porch and a more substantial addition to the rear of the house. The proposed front porch would encroach six feet (6’) into the required front yard setback and combined additions would increase the impervious surface area on their lot by approximately 735 square feet, for an overall total of 3,385 square feet. Staff-recommended APPROVAL of the request, based on comments and findings in Section 5, and the conditions outlined in Section 6 of the staff report dated May 2, 2007. During discussion, an error on the site photograph was noted; with staff providing clarification. The applicant, Bill Loomis, 1410 Judith Avenue, was present. Commissioner Wozniak questioned Mr. Loomis as to whether he had contacted adjacent neighbors for their input on the project. Mr. Loomis noted that, two years ago, and fairly recently, he had sought neighbor reaction, and most had been encouraging and positive regarding the plans. Commissioner Wozniak questioned whether the south addition would be one (1) or two (2) stories; with Mr. Loomis responding that it would be a single story. Public Comment No one appeared for or against. Chair Boerigter closed the Public Hearing. MOTION Member Doherty moved, seconded by Member Wozniak to adopt Variance Board Resolution No. 59 entitled, “A Resolution APPROVING VARIANCES to §1004 (Residential Districts) of the Roseville City Code for William Loomis, 1410 Judith Avenue (PF 07- 023);” to allow the proposed residential improvements at 1410 Judith Avenue, based on the comments and findings of Section 5 and the conditions of Section 6 of the project report dated May 2, 2007. Ayes: 3 Nays: 0 Motion carried. Acting Chair Boerigter advised the applicant of the appeal process timeframe. 5. Adjournment Acting Chair Boerigter adjourned the meeting at 5:58 p.m.
