Mayor Klausing sought volunteers from among Councilmembers. Councilmember Pust volunteered to serve on the subgroup. Councilmember Kough spoke in opposition to the "same Council- members serving on the same subgroups," and the need to share duties among all Councilmembers. Councilmember Pust withdrew her name as a volunteer. Councilmember Roe opined the need to recognize Councilmembers who were willing to serve and perform extra duties, in addition to their particular areas of expertise; and volunteered to serve on the subcomnuttee if needed. Mayor Klausing further noted the need to have some continuity, with someone serving on the performance evaluation committee who had been initially involved in negotiating the contract. Mayor Klausing suggested that Councilmember Roe, and either Councilmember Ihlan or Pust serve along with Councilmember Roe. Councilmember Pust suggested that Councilmember Kough step for- ward to serve on the subcon:~mittee; at which point Councilmember Kough declined. Councilmember Pust agreed to serve on the subcomnuttee with Coun- cilmember Roe. Mayor Klausing requested that Councilmembers Pust and Roe, as a City Council subconu~:uttee, work with Human Resources Director Bacon on developing a process for evaluating the City Manager, and report back to the full City Council; further clarifying that all Coun- cilmembers would be involved in final discussions and decision- making.
