Councilmember Roe <br />asked for information to determine what was needed to re- <br />main status quo and what improvements were indicated. <br />Councilmember Pust sought specific proposals from staff for <br />asset replacement (i.e., mold problem at fire station); an inven- <br />tory of assets, and a priority order for replacement, repair and <br />maintenance, with staff's detailed analysis and recommenda- <br />tion. <br />Councilmember Ihlan noted that in the community visioning <br />process, as well as public comments, there was a community <br />need and desire for more sidewalks and pathways; and recom- <br />mended that staff look at restoring a line item to fund mainte- <br />nance and construction from the general levy; or possibly shift- <br />ing reserves to create a reserve. Councilmember Ihlan noted <br />the availability of grant funds and other ways to raise revenue, <br />and sought to see that part of the budget phased back in. <br />Councilmember Kough opined that he wasn't confident that the <br />City would be able to hold the levy in line similar to last year. <br />Councilmember Roe noted that, with recently adopted resolu- <br />tions, apolicy for additional staffing requests was included, and <br />asked that staff include the requirements of the resolution if any <br />additional staff positions were requested in the proposed City <br />Manager 2008 Budget. <br />Mayor Klausing, as a core function and priority, asked staff to <br />consider and provide information and projected costs to blanket <br />specific neighborhoods periodically for educational purposes <br />regarding code awareness (i.e., restrictions on travel trailers <br />stored in front yards), rather than complaint-based code en- <br />forcement.
