Mr. Neprash <br />opined that this would be one of the few times the City would have <br />sufficient leverage to negotiate with the College; and that there was <br />every reason to believe that the college would acquire additional off- <br />campus properties over the next 10-20 years, further impacting the <br />City's tax base. <br />Councilmember Pust questioned if Mr. Neprash thought deliberations, <br />conclusions and recommendations at the PV'VET level would have <br />been different if comments were made available. <br />Mr. Neprash opined that, personally he believed it would have, just <br />the sheer weight of the comments and their substance, including the <br />nature of the entities providing comment. <br />i alag a, 3 ®rew®® a e <br />Mr. Callaghan noted that he lived directly across Little Johanna from <br />the College; and expressed his disappointment with the general nature <br />of the comments, rather than lack of specifics from the College in <br />their responses; opining that they were very incomplete and vague. <br />Mr. Callaghan commented on the various plans presented throughout <br />the review; and questioned which site plan was accurate; specific lo- <br />cation of the proposed ball fields and field house; whether the ball <br />field was proposed to be moved adjacent to Lydia and potential safety <br />impacts to traffic along Lydia and homes in that area; and the existing <br />significant sound buffer of trees in place on the east side of the prop- <br />erty and the questioned the intent for those trees. <br />1Vlayor Klausing reminded Mr. Callaghan that all plans presented and <br />reworked by the applicant were in concept stage at this point; and that <br />tree preservation; landscaping; and building location would be com- <br />pleted in accordance with City Code and permitting processes and <br />monitored by staff accordingly. <br />Mr. Callaghan reiterated his concerns with potential loss of existing <br />forested areas of the campus; addressed existing and potential noise <br />issues from the campus specific to sporting events, and impacts of any <br />significant tree buffers along the edge of the campus. <br />
